Jared Williams, a 16-year-old cyclist from Austin, is quickly making a name for himself in the competitive cycling world. Known for his impressive endurance and speed, Jared has won several state-level races and continues to push the boundaries of his potential in both road and mountain biking.
Jared’s love for cycling began at the age of 12 when his father, an avid cyclist himself, introduced him to the sport. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion. By the age of 14, Jared was racing in local competitions and soon began dominating his age group. His skills caught the attention of local cycling teams, and he was soon invited to join the Austin Youth Cycling Club, where he has continued to grow as a rider.
“I love the feeling of being in the zone when I’m racing,” says Jared. “Cycling has taught me so much about discipline and perseverance. It’s about constantly pushing yourself to be better, whether it’s during a race or a training session.”
Jared’s impressive results include winning the Texas Junior State Championship in both the road race and time trial events. Despite his success, Jared remains humble and committed to improving his skills. “There’s always room to grow, and I’m excited to see how far I can go,” he says.
Outside of cycling, Jared excels in his studies, maintaining a 3.9 GPA. He plans to attend college and pursue a degree in mechanical engineering while continuing to race at the professional level. Jared’s work ethic, both in cycling and academics, has earned him the respect of his teammates, coaches, and peers.
